AbstractEmpty on purpose for the third reason this corpus records: the abstract is printed and the copy cannot yield it faithfully. **It is printed.** Leaf 5 carries a labelled ABSTRACT: 'This is the first volume of [a] planned two-volume history of selected DARPA projects and programs that were undertaken from the agency's inception to the present day.' **And the scan's OCR will not support a transcription.** In eight lines it renders 's, planned two-volume' for 'a planned two-volume', 'u-ndo-taken' for 'undertaken', "w'hich" for 'which', 'alpropriate' for 'appropriate', 'tecbnicz. lustories' for 'technical histories', and 'woula' for 'would'. Copying that into a field that reads as quotation would put invention in it. The same decision, for the same reason, is on `robinson1965machineoriented` and `pratt1976semantical`. What would fill this field is a better scan of IDA Paper P-2192, not more effort against this file. Established by reading leaf 5.
