| Abstract | No abstract: the contribution goes from its title and byline straight into the text, and it begins partway down a leaf that the previous paper is still finishing. Leaf 41 -- where starts_on correctly points -- carries the end of another position paper at its head, then at line 16 the title 'The 1968/69 NATO Software Engineering Reports', at line 18 the byline 'Brian Randell', and at line 20 the first sentence: 'The idea for the first NATO Software Engineering Conference, and in particular that of adopting the deliberately provocative term software engineering...'. The folio 37 sits at the foot of that leaf, matching the declared range 37--41, so leaf = folio + 4 through the contribution. Position papers in an informal seminar volume carry no abstracts, and this one could not: it starts mid-page in a volume whose papers run on continuously. Established by reading leaf 41. |
